Olivier Wevers was born in Brussels, Belgium.
In his 22 years dance career, he was a Principal with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet and more recently Pacific Northwest Ballet. He has choreographed for the past 8 years and in 2009 founded his own company, Whim W’Him, which was named the resident dance company of the Intiman Theatre in Seattle in 2010. Olivier has participated in the New York Choreographic Institute and the National Choreographers Initiative. His work was recently selected as a finalist in the Copenhagen International Choreography Competition; in 2010 he was heralded as one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch,” and won the Grand Prize at the 13th Annual Dance Under the Stars Choreography Festival. Olivier is the 2008 recipient of the Artist Trust/Washington State Arts Commission Fellowship Award.
