Malik Ford

Malik Ford is a 21 year-old Indiana born filmmaker, ethnographer and musician based out of Western, MA. Ford uses topics such as critical race theory, gender, and the criminalization of Blackness in the majority of his films to promote alternative methods of discourse on interactions with power dynamics. Throughout his years Ford has been invested in the ways in which grassroots media production can affect his community. He has worked alongside critical media organizations such as Media Education Foundation, TRGGR Radio out of western Massachusetts. Ford’s film have been screened in, A Good Night Sleep: Experimental Film Screening and the Five College Film Festival. Ford is entering his final year at Hampshire College, where he is creating a thesis on the climate of Black gun ownership in the U.S.
