Dance Scholarship, 2010
Born and raised in San Jose, California, Craig Black began dancing at age 10 with South Bay Dance Center. He continued dancing in high school with the nationally ranked dance team, the Abraham Lincoln Convertibles. In 2007, as the Captain of the team, he helped lead the Convertibles to their third national title, while winning the title Mr. Dance of California through Dance Masters of America. In 2011, Craig will receive his B.F.A. from The Juilliard School where he has performed works by Merce Cunningham, William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin and Twyla Tharp as well as toured internationally to Germany and France. Additionally, Craig has performed works by Aszure Barton, Andrea Miller, Larry Keigwin, and Darrell Grand Moultrie. Craig is extremely thankful for this opportunity to share his dance with everyone!!
