Lucien Postlewaite leaps across the globe with Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo!

California native Lucien Postlewaite is packing his dancing shoes and ready to perform across the pond in London and around France this spring with Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo. Before joining the company, 2008 Princess Grace Awards Winner Lucien was a principal dancer at the renowned Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) in Seattle. Lucien explains that his transition to his new homein Monaco was made easier by the help of his former partner at PNB, Noelani Pantastico, who joined the company four years prior. "She was a lifesaver," Lucien says. "She filled me in on all the differences between PNB and Les Ballets. Because of her I immediately felt comfortable." Their close bond has continued to thrive as they work together with Les Ballet’s Artistic Director Jean-Christophe Maillot. They will take to the stage and perform Maillot's interpretation of Swan Lake at the Coliseum Theatre in London from April 9-12.From there, the company will be taking LAC to Lyon and Paris.Lucien notes that this inspired version is filled with strong characters outside of just the Prince, Odette, and Odile unlike the classic version. “LAC may seem like a radical departure from the traditional Swan Lake," says Lucien, "but I'm sure audiences will fully embrace it. It’s an amazingly interesting piece.” Despite the artistic changes in his life, Lucien reveals one thing for him will never change: his preparation for each performance. "I have a tradition that takes place before I get to the theater," he says with a big grin. "Before each performance, I eat a big bowl of pasta and then take an even bigger nap!"
