David Hallberg Publishes Personal Memoir

From dancer to published author, Princess Grace Award winner David Hallberg is both talented and resilient. He recently released his first book, a personal memoir called A Body of Work: Dancing to the Edge and Back, which outlines the struggles he has faced as a dancer. From working at two incredible dance companies, to suffering an injury that nearly cost him his dance career, David chronicles his inspiring story in this book.

The New York Times writes the following of David:

“The first American dancer to join the Bolshoi Ballet and a paragon of classical style, he is never quite satisfied with his work or himself. Since the start of his career, he has consistently avoided taking the easy path, and he loves to be drawn into challenging terrain. These themes are present throughout Mr. Hallberg’s memoir, “A Body of Work: Dancing to the Edge and Back,” out this week from Touchstone, almost a year after he returned to the stage following a painful two-and-a-half-year injury-filled absence.”

David’s persistence and passion are reflective of his talents, and his merit as an Award winner. He is currently a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre. If you are interested in purchasing his memoir, you can find it online here.
