BIG NEWS! 2017 Award Winner Reed Van Dyk Receives Oscar Nomination

Dekalb Elementary, a short film directed by Reed Van Dyk, has been nominated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for Best Live Action Short Film. Reed received the 2017 Princess Grace Award in filmmaking and applied for his grant with scenes from this short film. The story, based on actual events, revolves around two individuals: an office bookkeeper and a shooter who comes into the school. Reed directed, wrote and edited the film, which received a Special Jury Award from the SXSW Festival and Best Narrative Short from Hamptons International Film Festival.
