2017 Princess Grace Awards Gala

On October 25th, we celebrated the 2017 Princess Grace Awards Gala at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, hosted by Kristin Davis. Held in the presence of Their Serene Highnesses The Prince and The Princess of Monaco, the Gala recognized filmmaker James Cameron with the Prince Rainier III Award, screenwriter Bridget Carpenter and choreographer Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards with Princess Grace Statue Awards, and Princess Grace Awards to 21 emerging artists in theater, dance, and film. This year's Gala marked our 35th Anniversary and continues the legacy of Princess Grace Kelly.

Highlights from the evening included:

Avatar star Sam Worthington and H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco presented filmmaker James Cameron with the Prince Rainier III Award for his outstanding contribution to the Arts and his exemplary give-back. The award was designed and created by Alex Soldier.

Filmmaker Jon M. Chu (2001 Princess Grace Award Winner) and New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Tiler Peck (2004 Princess Grace Award Winner) presented screenwriter Bridget Carpenter and choreographer Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards with the 2017 Princess Grace Statue Awards for distinguishing themselves in their respective artistic disciplines since receiving their initial Princess Grace Awards.

Sara Bareilles closed the evening with a special musical performance of her chart-topping hits “Love Song,” “She Used to Be Mine,” and “Brave.”

We are so thankful to everyone who participated and helped make our 2017 Awards Gala such a spectacular event.
