Pierre Lockett joined The Joffrey Ballet’s administrative staff in 2004 after a long career as a professional dancer. Mr. Lockett was a lead dancer with The Joffrey for 13 years and has danced with such distinguished companies as The Dance Theatre of Harlem and The Princeton Ballet.

As Director of The Joffrey’s CE programs, Mr. Lockett combines his passion for dance and his desire to inspire youth through invigorating dance programs. He has worked extensively with youths from the Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Park District and various dance schools throughout the country.

Mr. Lockett received the Princess Grace Award for Dance in 1984 and the Black Theatre Alliance/Ira Aldridge Award for Best Performance in a Music or Dance Program in 1999. In June of 2006, he received the Artist of the Year Award from the Hyde Park School of Ballet.
