Mitch McCabe has received several awards and screened her films at Sundance, New York Film Festival, New Directors/New Films and hundreds of festivals internationally, with broadcasts on HBO, PBS and Showtime. Her first documentary PLAYING THE PART, premiered at Sundance and won an Academy Award in the student category. Her HBO documentary YOUTH KNOWS NO PAIN (supported by a PGF Special Projects Grant) premiered at Lincoln Center, was nominated for a WGA writing award by AFI-Silverdocs and was selected for IDFA. Her short films SEPTEMBER 5:10PM, HIGHWAY 403, MILE 39 and TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN have screened at Sundance, New Directors/ New Films, New York Film Festival, two nominated for an Academy Awards in the student category. She has worked extensively in TV and branded content, and is a recipient of a Princess Grace Award as well as grants and awards from the Jerome Foundation, New York Experimental TV Center/NYSCA, and the LEF Foundation. She was a Rockefeller/Renew Media nominee and has been awarded residencies from MacDowell Colony, Yaddo Corporation, Djerassi Foundation, the Ragdale Foundation and Ucross.
