A Pasadena, CA native and Harlem resident Fortè-Saunders is an independent artist and cofounder with Nia Love, of LOVE|FORTÉ A COLLECTIVE. She traveled as a performer with Urban Bush Women Dance Co. for 5 yrs, and is a recent awardee of the LMCC Extended Life Residency and Commission. She is also a 2014 Princess Grace Choreography Fellowship Awardee. With generous support from the SURDNA Foundation she curated a 3-month multimedia exhibit with encore at the Museum of Contemporary African Diaspora Art. Summer 2016, she will present new work for CONTRA TIEMPO at the Ford Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, CA. Fortè-Saunders’ is a member of UBW’s BOLD Teaching Network and is thrilled to join the team of professors at the Yale School of Acting Fall 2016.
