María-Cristina is a lighting designer with credits in Puerto Rico, Bolivia, Colombia, México, the Dominican Republic, and several major U.S. cities. She is also the Executive Artistic Director of Boundless Theatre Company. Recent credits: ABIGAIL/1702 (MRT; MA/IRNE Award nomination for Best Lighting Design 2016), In the Heights (Aurora Theatre, Theatrical Outfit; Suzi Bass Award, Broadway World Award for Outstanding Lighting Design on a Musical 2016), Newsies (Aurora Theatre, The Lyric), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Aurora Theatre, Theatrical Outfit), Prospect and Mud (Boundless Theatre Company). Opera: Bluebeard’s Castle, Madama Butterfly, Don Pasquale, L’Elisir d’Amore (Ópera de Puerto Rico). Zarzuela Cecilia Valdés (Teatro Colón). She holds a BA in Theatre from the University of Puerto Rico, and an MFA in Lighting Design from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
