Louisa Proske brings her talent for creating vivid theatrical worlds, her raw passion and attention to detail to productions in classical theatre, opera and contemporary drama. She is Co-Artistic Director of Heartbeat Opera. Her directing work has received raves in The New York Times, New Yorker, Wall Street Journal, and Opera News. She was named New Artist of the Month by Musical America. Opera productions include Agrippina (Lincoln Center debut), La Bohème (Pittsburgh Festival Opera), Così fan tutte (LoftOpera), Don Giovanni, Carmen, Lucia di Lammermoor, Daphnis & Chloé (Heartbeat Opera). Theatre includes peerless (nominated for Berkshire Theatre Award/Outstanding Direction), Gaslight, This and Engagements (Barrington Stage Company), One Day When We Were Young (Assembly, Edinburgh), Cymbeline (YSD). Alumna of Drama League Director’s Project; MFA (Directing) from Yale School of Drama.
