Beryl Allee
Princess Grace Award:
Film Scholarship, 2016
I’m Beryl Allee, I’m a 2-D animator, and I can’t seem to grow tired of turning people into animals. With a background as an illustrator and painter, I animate films about interpersonal connection and misguided belief. My work features rich and unusual character designs in striking digitally painted worlds. I have received awards and honors for my work since 2009, featuring work in the Northwest Animation Fest, Koronis Fest, and Stopwatch Animation Festivals, as well as short environmental films in partnership with the National Oceanic and atmospheric administration. I hail from Aurora, Colorado and currently have an independent practice in Portland, Oregon.
