Ashley J. Jackson

Princess Grace Award:
Dance Fellowship, 2010, Chris Hellman Dance Award

Aspiring to become a dancer from the start of a young age, Ashley Jackson traveled around North Carolina’s Piedmont area to enhance her training from places such as the North Carolina School of the Arts, Susan’s Dance Unlimited, and Dancer’s Head Quarters. After dancing in North Carolina Dance Theatre 2, in 2006 Ashley joined Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet. A few of her favorite ballets to perform are Alonzo King’s Scheherazade, George Balanchine’s Serenade, and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux’s Carmina Burana. Now in her fourth year with LINES Ballet, she is currently enrolled in the Liberal Education for Arts Professionals Program at Saint Marys College of California. In 2009, she received the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Performing Arts medal. Ashley’s also featured in Dance Magazine’s August 2009 edition and High Point Enterprise’s Sept. 21, 2009 newspaper.
